Newbie trouble with default config extension 9198...

Francisco Javier Cintrón Olguín
Hi there. :)
After spending hours trying to register Xlite 4.1 in freeswitch 1.0.6 both installed in my Windows 7 pro rig I gave up.

Now I installed Freeswtich 1.0.6 in a centos 5.7 x86 virtual machine with the help of freeswitch book.

Xlite is registering fine but now the problem is this:

When  I dial 9198 extension Xlite tells me "Failed to establish call" and This log messages are written in freeswitch console:

freeswitch@pbx> 2011-10-12 09:01:17.469489 [NOTICE] switch_channel.c:669 New Channel sofia/internal/[hidden email] [e3f7697a-74ff-46a6-a3ac-c5b95f58d103]

2011-10-12 09:01:17.502715 [NOTICE] switch_core_session.c:1182 Session 6 (sofia/internal/[hidden email]) Ended
2011-10-12 09:01:17.504038 [NOTICE] switch_core_session.c:1184 Close Channel sofia/internal/[hidden email] [CS_DESTROY]

It looks that 9198 extension is not defined.
This is the default configuration I haven't change anything.

If it helps extension 5000 is working.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for your  help and have a good day.

Re: Newbie trouble with default config extension 9198...

Nandy Dagondon
9198 is not defined so it goes to the default destination enum. try dialing music on hold or echo test.  check the default.xml entries.

Trying to use a client and FS on the same box is not a configuration that is recommended especially for new users. You will have much better success using two different IP's(multiple machines). Also make sure that you allow exceptions for FS and the client(soft phone) though the windows firewall.

Sorry for the late reply... You really should not be using 1.0.6 - it is quite old. Get on the latest git HEAD. Be sure to mv or cp the /usr/local/freeswitch directory before reinstalling. The latest version of FS has an updated default config set and 9198 should be working just fine.

-MC

P.S. - You can look in /usr/local/freeswitch/conf/dialplan/default.xml for "9198" and see if it's actually there. I suspect that if 9198 is missing then 9998 will be there, which is a sure sign that your install is *REALLY* old and is in need of a serious update.
